Great place and great food! Platea Madrid is a gourmet market in a theater – opening its door in 2014 this is one of the best gastronomic venue in town. Imagine an old movie theater turned into a gourmet market and restaurant where entertainment performances occur on stage right before you. You can enjoy wonderful food by great chefs and feel like you have gone to a great performance too.
There are three stories of gourmet food to discover. The ground floor has eleven different restaurants, stores and bars. In the same level, but in the patio, there are five restaurants like a food court like area which is over seen by three internationally renowned Spanish chefs: Paco Roncero, Marcos Morán, and Pepe Solla.
The lower level is home to world cuisine with a Mexican restaurant, a cocktail bar, a gourmet burger restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a Peruvian restaurant, a Japanese sushi bar, various cheeses, soups and of course many of the traditional Spanish dishes.
Located in the first floor, Arriba is the biggest and most important restaurant in Platea Madrid. The menu and the food is the creation of two-star Michelin chef Ramón Freixa. Mamá Framboise is the gorgeous bakery that occupies the platea area with Arriba. The spot is decorated with industrial touches honoring the New York of the twenties. The second floor is occupied by a cocktail bar called El Palco.
