Angelina is one of my favorite spots, the pastries and the interior are both scrumptious. Much more than a simple patisserie or tearoom, Angelina is a prestigious brand that symbolizes the “French Way of Life.” Relax in the grand salon that dates back to 1903 while sipping on their famous “African” hot chocolate–its simply the most decadent hot chocolate you will ever have.
This “institution” is directly opposite the Tuileries Garden and walking distance from the Louvre. This epicurean delight is a wonderful way to refuel–with their signature pastry “The Mont-Blanc”.
The real star here is the hot chocolate. It is comprised of three kinds of African cocoa from Niger, Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire giving it a exceptional taste. It will change the way you think of hot chocolate forever.
I was fortunate to be able to celebrate Angelina’s 110th anniversary. The lines do tend to be a bit long especially around noon, so plan accordingly.
The interior, designed by the famous Belle Epoque architect Edouard-Jean Niermans, combines elegance, charm and refinement to create a sense of romanticism and poetry. Angelina is a tranquil, exquisite space, perfectly to enjoy the heaven chocolate severed.
